Friendly dinosaurs Coloring Pages

These four friendly dinosaur scenes use simple shapes, spots, and smiling faces to invite imaginative coloring. Mountains, the sun, clouds, grass, and a small egg shape appear in the settings. The creatures are stylized characters, not museum reconstructions or accurate body-proportion diagrams. Treat the pack as a chance to invent a prehistoric-looking world, including whatever colors and patterns you would like its residents to have.

Download this four-page pack

Print the Letter PDF at actual size on US Letter. On A4, choose “Fit to printable area” and check the preview. Each download is a real four-page collection.

Original LITTLE PAPER vector artwork; free personal, classroom and library use; not for resale or asset-pack redistribution.

Step by step

  1. Open the four-page PDF and select pages. It contains finished artwork, not fillable fields.
  2. On US Letter, use portrait orientation and Actual size/100%. Check the border, title, and footer; choose Fit if printer margins would clip anything.
  3. On A4, choose Fit. The PDF is US Letter, 8.5 by 11 inches, not a separate A4 layout.
  4. Print one physical test before making copies. Grayscale suits the outlines; check margins and lines. Ink use varies.

Page 1: Long-neck dinosaur

The long-neck dinosaur has a tall curved neck, a small head, a long tail, four block-like legs, and outlined spots. Use those spots as a repeated accent against a single body color. You might choose a different shade for the neck to lead the eye toward the face. Keep the mountain outlines in quieter colors, or turn the whole scene into an imaginary sunset using warm shades across the sky.

Page 2: Stegosaurus and its plates

The stegosaurus picture adds a row of pointed plates along the dinosaur's back and a small rounded head at the right. Color the plates in an alternating sequence and compare the effect with a version where they all match. The broad body is open enough for a soft pencil gradient or a simple invented pattern. A few darker accents on the spots can separate them clearly from the rest of the body.

Page 3: Three-horn dinosaur

The three-horn dinosaur has a large outlined frill around its face, visible horns, a rounded body, and small spots. Make the frill a contrasting color so it reads as a separate shape, then repeat that accent in one of the smaller details. The horn shapes can be pale or brightly colored. Use the page title as the theme rather than assuming the cartoon is a technically accurate picture of a named species.

Page 4: Friendly dinosaur explorer

The friendly dinosaur explorer stands with a large head, an open smiling mouth, short arms, and a tail reaching behind it. Use several related greens, or invent a completely unexpected striped traveler. Add a small trail on the ground or a few distant plants if you want to suggest a journey. Keep new background marks thin so they do not compete with the printed character outline.

Invent a shared setting

Choose a name for the imaginary place where the four dinosaurs live, then make their backgrounds share one sky or mountain color. You can write a separate one-sentence introduction for each character. None of the pages requires a factual dinosaur label, and the drawings should not be used as scientific evidence about color, habitat, or anatomy.
