Woodland animals Coloring Pages
Give four woodland characters their own color stories. This pack pairs a fox, an owl, a rabbit, and a hedgehog with simple outdoor details, leaving plenty of white space around the outlined animals. The designs are playful illustrations rather than realistic species guides. Print a favorite page or use all four as a small collection; there is no required color scheme and no finished example you need to copy.

Step by step
- Open the four-page PDF and select pages. It contains finished artwork, not fillable fields.
- On US Letter, use portrait orientation and Actual size/100%. Check the border, title, and footer; choose Fit if printer margins would clip anything.
- On A4, choose Fit. The PDF is US Letter, 8.5 by 11 inches, not a separate A4 layout.
- Print one physical test before making copies. Grayscale suits the outlines; check margins and lines. Ink use varies.
Page 1: Fox in a meadow
The fox sits with pointed ears, an outlined face mask, an oval chest, and a large curved tail. Small plants, a mushroom, a cloud, and the sun complete the meadow setting. Try one main fur color and a contrasting color for the chest and tail tip, or invent a midnight-blue fox. Add a soft background using the side of a pencil, keeping the animal silhouette clearer than the surrounding sky.
Page 2: Owl on a leafy branch
The owl rests on a branch with large circular eyes, wing shapes, small belly marks, and a leaf at one end of the branch. Choose a different shade for each ring around the eyes, then repeat one of those shades in the feathers. For a different version, keep the owl almost monochrome and put the strongest colors in the branch leaves and small background details.
Page 3: Rabbit and a garden carrot
The rabbit has long outlined ears, a rounded belly, whiskers, broad feet, and a carrot beside it. You can color the inner ears differently from the outer fur, then use the carrot as a small bright accent. Imagine the rabbit arriving at a garden picnic and add a simple path or a few small flowers in the blank area. Keep your added lines light until you like their placement.
Page 4: Hedgehog and mushrooms
The hedgehog has a jagged outer outline, shorter marks across its body, a pointed nose, and small feet. Mushrooms and a floating leaf give you separate details to color. Try alternating two shades around the outer spikes while leaving the face lighter. Another option is an autumn palette for the leaf and mushrooms, with a single quiet shade for the hedgehog itself. The picture does not prescribe the colors of a real animal.
Turn four pages into one collection
Pick a shared sky color or repeat one accent across all four pictures to make a coordinated set. Alternatively, give each animal a different imaginary season. Write a short caption on a separate sheet so the original page title stays readable. At a classroom or library table, let people choose their own page rather than assigning a fixed order.
