Outer space Coloring Pages
Build a small imagined space mission with a rocket, an astronaut, a ringed planet, and an exploration rover. Stars, circular details, and simple ground lines give each page a distinct setting. These original drawings are creative illustrations rather than a real mission, a map of the solar system, or a scale model. Make the four pages share one mission palette, or give each scene its own entirely invented world.

What you need
- US Letter paper; A4 using Fit
- Printer and PDF viewer
- Colored pencils or crayons
Download this four-page pack
Download PDF · US Letter ↓Download SVG source ZIP ↓Print the Letter PDF at actual size on US Letter. On A4, choose “Fit to printable area” and check the preview. Each download is a real four-page collection.
Original LITTLE PAPER vector artwork; free personal, classroom and library use; not for resale or asset-pack redistribution.
Step by step
- Open the four-page PDF and select pages. It contains finished artwork, not fillable fields.
- On US Letter, use portrait orientation and Actual size/100%. Check the border, title, and footer; choose Fit if printer margins would clip anything.
- On A4, choose Fit. The PDF is US Letter, 8.5 by 11 inches, not a separate A4 layout.
- Print one physical test before making copies. Grayscale suits the outlines; check margins and lines. Ink use varies.
Page 1: Rocket among the stars
The rocket points upward with a rounded nose, a circular window, a banded body, side fins, and outlined flame shapes. Stars surround it without filling the whole background. Pick a main body color, an accent for the fins, and a warm or imaginary color for the flame. A dark sky is optional: leaving it white can keep the page bright while still letting the small stars form a clear pattern.
Page 2: Astronaut on the moon
The astronaut stands on a simple curved surface with small rock shapes, a broad helmet visor, a control panel, rounded arms, and a small flag nearby. Color the helmet rim and suit separately to distinguish the shapes. The visor could reflect your invented sky through a pale gradient. If you add a mission symbol to the flag, create your own simple mark rather than suggesting this is an official space-agency page.
Page 3: Ringed planet and moons
The ringed planet is the central feature of page 3, with curved bands, wide rings, smaller round bodies, and nearby stars. Alternate pale and strong bands around the planet, then choose a different color family for the rings. Keep the smaller bodies distinct with simple dots or half-shaded areas. The arrangement is imaginary and is not intended to show accurate orbits, relative sizes, or the order of real planets.
Page 4: Planet explorer rover
The rover has a rectangular body, three visible wheels, a raised panel, an antenna-like dish, a smaller round instrument, and simple surface lines beneath it. Give the wheels one consistent shade, then use two contrasting tones on the body and instruments. For a shared-mission version, repeat the accent color you chose for the rocket fins. Add light surface texture away from the printed outlines if you want a rougher imagined landscape.
Tell a four-page mission story
Arrange the pictures as launch, arrival, exploration, and a view from space, or choose a different order. Write one sentence about each scene on separate paper. Repeating an accent color can help the rocket, suit, and rover feel connected. Treat the sequence as an invented story rather than a description of how an actual spaceflight would operate.

Common questions
Does the pack depict a real space mission?
No. The equipment and settings are original imaginative designs.
Is the ringed planet a scale drawing of Saturn?
No. It is a decorative ringed planet, without scientifically accurate size or orbital relationships.
Do I need the SVG ZIP to print?
No. Use the PDF; the ZIP provides individual vector originals and use notes.
