Garden bugs Coloring Pages

Build a bright illustrated garden from four individual pages. The butterfly, bumblebee, ladybug, and snail each have a large outlined body, with flowers and outdoor details nearby. The title uses garden bugs in a casual creative sense: the set is not a scientific classification exercise. Color the pages independently or repeat one flower palette across the pack to make the finished collection feel connected.

Print the Letter PDF at actual size on US Letter. On A4, choose “Fit to printable area” and check the preview. Each download is a real four-page collection.

Original LITTLE PAPER vector artwork; free personal, classroom and library use; not for resale or asset-pack redistribution.

Step by step

  1. Open the four-page PDF and select pages. It contains finished artwork, not fillable fields.
  2. On US Letter, use portrait orientation and Actual size/100%. Check the border, title, and footer; choose Fit if printer margins would clip anything.
  3. On A4, choose Fit. The PDF is US Letter, 8.5 by 11 inches, not a separate A4 layout.
  4. Print one physical test before making copies. Grayscale suits the outlines; check margins and lines. Ink use varies.

Page 1: Butterfly flower garden

The butterfly has broad paired wings containing large oval and circular areas, with flowers near the ground. Start by choosing whether the two sides will match. You might repeat the same colors on opposite wings, or deliberately make each side different. Leave the body in a single shade to keep the wings prominent. For a second print, limit yourself to two pencils and use pressure to create lighter and darker areas.

Page 2: Bumblebee in flight

The bumblebee has outlined wings, a striped rounded body, antennae, and small legs, with flowers beneath it. The familiar yellow-and-dark combination is one option, but an imaginary violet bee works too. Keep the wings lightly colored if you want them to look visually delicate. Repeat a body color in the flower centers, then choose a contrasting shade for the petals to tie the picture together.

Page 3: Ladybug in the sunshine

The ladybug stands upright with a divided shell, large circular spots, antennae, and legs extending to either side. Give the shell and spots different tones so their shapes stay easy to see. You can repeat one color in the small flowers and use another for the sun. Try making an unusual striped or dotted background on a separate practice sheet before adding any pattern to the page itself.

Page 4: Snail and a spiral shell

The snail carries a large spiral shell and has two raised eye stalks, a rounded head, and a long low body with small outlined circles. Follow the shell spiral with a sequence of shades, or keep the shell simple and make the body patterned. The large blank area above the snail can hold an added cloud, a light sky wash, or a small handwritten story title if you want to personalize it.

Choose a garden color rule

Use one creative rule across the set: every flower could share a center color, every sky could stay white, or every creature could use the same three pencils. These are optional art prompts rather than a scored activity. A group can compare different interpretations of the same butterfly without treating matching colors as a correct answer.

Common questions

Is the snail an insect?

No. This is a casually named garden-themed art pack, not an insect classification resource.

Does the butterfly need matching wings?

No. Matching, contrasting, and completely invented palettes are all suitable creative choices.

Do I need the SVG ZIP to print?

No. Use the PDF; the ZIP provides individual vector originals and use notes.
