LITTLE PAPER
Patterns

Simple geometric patterns Coloring Pages

This collection replaces characters with repeating shapes. The first three sheets use regular arrangements of circles, squares and diamonds, or nested triangles; the fourth uses a circular petal design. The repeated spaces let you try a color rule and see how it changes the overall picture. You can use the pages for informal creative exploration, without a required palette, a timed task, or a score.

Print the Letter PDF at actual size on US Letter. On A4, choose “Fit to printable area” and check the preview. Each download is a real four-page collection.

Original LITTLE PAPER vector artwork; free personal, classroom and library use; not for resale or asset-pack redistribution.

Step by step

  1. Open the four-page PDF and select pages. It contains finished artwork, not fillable fields.
  2. On US Letter, use portrait orientation and Actual size/100%. Check the border, title, and footer; choose Fit if printer margins would clip anything.
  3. On A4, choose Fit. The PDF is US Letter, 8.5 by 11 inches, not a separate A4 layout.
  4. Print one physical test before making copies. Grayscale suits the outlines; check margins and lines. Ink use varies.

Page 1: Concentric circle tiles

Concentric circle tiles places repeated groups of three outlined circles in a grid, with smaller circles between some groups. Choose a sequence such as light, medium, and dark, then repeat it from the center outward. You can keep every tile the same or reverse the sequence on alternate tiles. The small in-between circles make useful accent points. Leave them white first and decide later whether the page needs another color.

Page 2: Square and diamond tiles

Square and diamond tiles repeats a large square containing a diamond, a smaller square, and a central circle. Try using the same color for every diamond while changing the outer-square areas. Another approach is to alternate two palettes across the rows. Because the shapes repeat, it is easy to compare the effect of a darker center with a darker outer frame. Work a single tile first before committing to a whole-page rule.

Page 3: Triangle garden

Triangle garden arranges nested triangular shapes in rows, with small circles between some columns. Choose three shades for the nested regions and repeat them consistently, or let each row move through a different palette. You might color only the outer triangle bands and leave the central areas white. The title is imaginative: this is an abstract pattern sheet rather than a picture of real plants or a geometry assessment.

Page 4: Petal circle mandala

Petal circle mandala uses a circular outer border, small perimeter dots, elongated petal shapes, and a flower-like center. Begin at the center or the outer ring, whichever makes your color choices easier. Repeat a small palette around the petals, then use a quiet shade in the spaces between them. You do not need to finish the entire circle in one sitting, and the design has no claimed therapeutic or cultural significance.

Keep a palette note

If you pause halfway through a repeating pattern, record the pencil colors and their order on a separate scrap. You can also mark a tiny test sequence there before coloring the page. For a comparison, print a second copy and change just one decision, such as reversing the light and dark areas. Both versions can be complete without following the same rule.
